"giving it 1/5. Not gonna talk about what I liked because I have on other platforms. And SUE ME if I’m the only person to not like this book.
This wasn’t the Newt pov I wanted to see. I wished we got a lot more ivy trio content. A lot of the audiobook is kind of boring and I feel as if there is not really a plot happening and that James just made a book around this idea. I was around halfway through and still nothing really important or exciting had happened, still exposition to a weak plot that kept getting sidetracked. I was also so confused on the timeline of events and how it all fits into the main series because when the **** does this all happened cuz that isn’t really established. ( could also be my lack of knowledge, as I have not returned to the series in a long while). But like if someone could explain that for me that’d be great.
overall, I went into this optimistic, I had heard such great things and was excited, but all I was met with was a confusing timeline, a strange attempt at a British accent, and a whole novel just purely exposition. "
"i give this book a 3/5 since, at first, the book was a little slow-paced compared to others by james dashner which i wasnt a fan off, however being able to see newt’s pov and the workings of the flare in him kept me going and omg the last few chapters did not disappoint, def made it all worth it. especially how it all perfectly lead up to the epilogue!
