"Another treasured find from my local Little Free Library, All the Pretty Horses is an adventurous tale of cowboys/vaqueros set in the cattle land of Texas and Mexico in the mid-20th century. John Grady Cole is a young Texan, a cowboy, struggling after the death of his grandfather and sale of the family ranch. The story follows John Grady and his friend(s) on their ride into Mexico for ranch-hand work and romance and unknown dangers in this foreign country."
"It dragged on a little too much in the first 100 pages but then things really picked up afterward and it was a great read. Although I was only reading it for class, I still enjoyed it and it really pulled at my heartstrings. Definitely recommend it to those who want to pick up something to read every now and then. I wouldn't push people to read it immediately but it is a good coming-of-age story that isn't so generic."
