"I am of the House of Lara, daughter of Elvira of Nailani, sister of witches, and I have come to reclaim my crown." Isolde, newly coronated queen, has finally found a king worthy of her in the vampire Adrian. But their love for each other has cost Isolde her father and her homeland. With two opposing goddesses playing mortals and vampires against one another, Isolde is uncertain who her allies are in the vampire stronghold of Revekka. Now, as politics in the Red Palace grow more underhanded, inexplicable monster attacks plague the villages, and a deadly crimson mist threatens all of Cordova, Isolde must trust in the bond she's formed with Adrian, even as she learns troubling information about his complicated past. The next book in the scorching, bingeable vampire fantasy series by USA Today and international bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair.

"The feminine rage is REAL in this Isolde and Adrian installment: obviously not a finished series, you’ve been warned. I loved every page, this book basically was us learning about all the characters we have come to know and what moves them to do and be. Most importantly, we see Isolde double down on the promise that she needs no man to save her. She was never meek and she sure won’t be now. We see her really embrace the fear in the dark mist and become the howl in the night. I am obviously invested because I cannot wait to see her absolutely rage and avenge not just her coven but the life taken from her.
We also see Adrian in a whole new way, behind the eyes of a man willing to conquer the world for the woman he loves, is a woman filled with rage. IYKYK. We see a different Adrian and Isolde dynamic, this is not the couple we knew from KBB, so don’t expect it.
Loyalties are tested, and grudges become nonexistent, this book will have you questioning everything and everyone you learn about.
My mind is ready for book 3, my heart? Not so much. Happy reading!! "
"This is the sequel to The King of Battle and blood and also has spice sprinkled in. Both books have a vampire male main character who is “sexy”, but also vicious as hell. The female main character is still a boss and will kick ass and take names."

"I made it through. After the first 1/3, I felt I was only holding out for the love story, which really didn't hold strong. So, at this point, I was reading purely out of my own stubbornness to avoid DNFing it. The characters started out fine, but they were watering down as the story progressed. It sorely lacked character development and displayed toxicity between FMC and MMC. When I recognize domestic violence or a toxic love storyline, I eagerly anticpate a second love interest to be written in. This was not the case and unfortunately resulted in the relationship feeling forced. I've read other reviews saying it was written in 4 weeks (per the author's note). I'm not sure if that was what the author meant, but this certainly felt like rushed writing. However, just as the first book, the spice is solid if that is what you are looking for. There are many instances where similar names of characters and places are easily confused, making the writing difficult to follow. Also, this book ends with a cliffhanger, which felt out of tune as many conflicts were already left unresolved by the end. I'm torn whether I want to continue with the next book or not, as this one did not hit the mark."

"ST. CLAIR YOU AMAZING PERSON! Look, when I tell you, that usually the sequel to a series isn’t ever as good as the first, I usually mean it, BUT NOT TODAY LADIES, GENTS, AND NON-BINARY! This is fantastic! Truly a book worth reading!💙 It has so much emotion, character development and the storyline just gets even better! An amazing continuation from book 1, the spiciness was perfectly written BUT the characters and the references to the past was so perfectly plotted and ugh I cannot wait for a third! Please go and read this I beg you. 10/10 would recommend 💙🔥🔥 "
