"Let me just say that Kennedy Ryan the author that you are, I love it. This was so good, I loved it more than the first book, it gave me what I loved about the last half of the first book and more. The political drama, the romance, the intrigue, it's interesting and pulls you in immediately. This book starts off on the cliffhanger from the last book, and right away, we know what's going on and how the characters are reacting to it. The first 20 percent of the book is extremely fast-paced, with lots of intrigue just think season 4 of Scandal. The political drama/intrigue in this book was a lot more than the first book, with a focus on the campaigns that Lennix and her team run and her relationship with Maxim.

A minor complaint I had in the first book was that, at times, it felt too informative, and this book fixed that with all the action and focus on drama. I also didn't see chapter 24 coming, that was kind of shocking to me, but it really fit in the scandal-political drama vibe of the book.
There's so much more I want to say about this book but they're spoilers, so just read this series if you love political drama and suspense. I love Lennix and Maxim so much, their story was beautiful. The ending tied everything together, and seeing their character development along with the full circle moment Lennix had about her mom at the end was quite emotional.

”All the power in the universe convenes here, throbbing and humming between our bodies. And it is more than enough.”

Thank you, Netgalley and Blooms Books, for this arc for an honest review."
