*USA Today and Toronto Star bestseller*Full of romance, hijinks, and longing, Good Girl Complex is Elle Kennedy at her very best. She does everything right. So what could go wrong?Mackenzie “Mac” Cabot is a people pleaser. Her demanding parents. Her prep school friends. Her long-time boyfriend. It’s exhausting, really, always following the rules. All she wants to do is focus on growing her internet business, but first she must get a college degree at her parents’ insistence. That means moving to the beachside town of Avalon Bay, a community made up of locals and the wealthy students of Garnet College.Twenty-year-old Mac has had plenty of practice suppressing her wilder impulses, but when she meets local bad boy Cooper Hartley, that ability is suddenly tested. Cooper is rough around the edges. Raw. Candid. A threat to her ordered existence. Their friendship soon becomes the realest thing in her life.Despite his disdain for the trust-fund kids he sees coming and going from his town, Cooper soon realizes Mac isn’t just another rich clone and falls for her. Hard. But as Mac finally starts feeling accepted by Cooper and his friends, the secret he’s been keeping from her threatens the only place she’s ever felt at home.

"I really enjoyed this take on the rich good girl-poor bad boy trope.

Cooper Hartley is a bad boy living in coastal Avalon Bay. He has a tough exterior because he had to grow up quick and doesn’t care for the wealthy college kids that invade the town.

Mackenzie Cabot isn’t just a rich girl, she is also a business woman who has made her own money. She wants to focus on her business and finish school while sticking to the plan to marry her rich boyfriend Preston.

Unfortunately when Cooper and Mac meet, the banter is too good and eventually they can’t resist each other. He realizes that Mac is more than a rich princess, and she realizes that she doesn’t have to stick to the plan, she can strike out on her own!

The characters of Mackenzie and Cooper really pulled me into the story. The narrators made them come alive in my head as I listened. Their voices took the story to another level, and kept me engaged. The pace and flow of the book were good. I never got bored, I was invested in the story. I couldn’t wait to see what happened, if there would be consequences for choices or not.

The side characters were also intriguing and hopefully we will get books with Stephanie, Alana, and Evan.

TW for cheating, spice level 3/5.

ARC provided by Macmillan Audio"
"Dual POV. This was a fun read and had Outer Banks vibes. I liked the way the story unfolded and tied up all loose ends by the end. The 3rd act conflict was very predictable and the end resolution felt quite rushed. Overall it was an enjoyable read! Also I was waiting for the cover to make sense and it never did. Doesn’t match the books description which was confusing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5 🌶.5/5"
