"I've been avoiding this one because I'm just not a fan of fae novels. Never really good get into them. I finally read this because I've read all the books I had that were fantasy and finally broke down and gave this a try. Apparently this is set up like a fae novel but the people in here aren't fae, or act like your typical fae. I was relieved! For this to be like the fae worlds without outright fae creatures, I enjoyed the world. Where in the season areas it never changes. Winter stays winter. Due to magic. I was able to dive right on into the story. One of the things I liked the most was that Meira has never seen Winter. She was a baby when Sir led them out of Winter and into hiding. I love how she tries to imagine what Winter is like, what the castle was like and how much she just wants to see some snow or cold. She was born to be in Winter so the warm really has an effect on her. I think that author took advantages of the environments they were in to show that all of winter belongs in Winter. There is one thing I hit that I'm not excited about. The dreaded love triangle! <spoiler>Theron or Mather?</spoiler> Who do you choose? Well, I'm sad to say I don't have one picked out. Maybe it's for the best. Sir and Mather threw Meira under the bus. Or at least it feels like it. It did to her and me."
