"I am writing this review as the audiobook plays at 2.1 speed, and I am 65% through.

REVIEW:

Rina Kent really went all in with this one when it comes to misogyny and stereotypes.

Candace is a black woman, so Rina Kent wrote her as the Mammy stereotype: She's the de-sexualized assistant to Sébastien, who is sexless and has a husband and multiple kids and somehow takes care of Sébastien when he's sick...

And to desexualize her even more, when Naomi found Candace and him alone in his home, Naomi was not even threatened.

Whereas when she saw Sébastien acting civil to Aspen in an earlier chapter, and mind you, Aspen and Sébastien weren't even flirting, he was just being nice and civil to a freaking female colleague, Naomi was fuelling with jealousy...

For what, I'm not sure...

And to make matters worse, Reyna referred to Aspen as a "red-headed witch" trying to "steal" Sébastien from the married Naomi, out of literally nowhere, unprompred, when no such thing was happening.

Rina Kent needs to take some classes.

Just a giant mess."
