A missing woman. A husband suspected. The truth will . . .TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAYFrom the New York Times bestselling author of Find You First and Elevator Pitch comes a gripping psychological thriller about a formerly missing woman who has suddenly returned under mysterious circumstances. One weekend, while Andrew Mason was on a fishing trip, his wife, Brie, vanished without a trace. Most everyone assumed Andy had got away with murder—it’s always the husband, isn’t it?—but the police could never build a strong case against him. For a while, Andy hit rock bottom—he drank too much to numb the pain, was abandoned by all his friends save one, nearly lost his business, and became a pariah in the place he once called home. Now, six years later, Andy has finally put his life back together. He sold the house he once shared with Brie and moved away. To tell the truth, he wasn’t sad to hear that the old place was razed and a new house built on the site. He’s settled down with a new partner, Jayne, and life is good. But Andy’s peaceful world is about to shatter. One day, a woman shows up at his old address, screaming, “Where’s my house? What’s happened to my house?” And then, just as suddenly as she appeared, the woman—who bears a striking resemblance to Brie—is gone. The police are notified and old questions—and dark suspicions—resurface. Could Brie really be alive after all these years? If so, where has she been? It soon becomes clear that Andy’s future and the lives of those closest to him depend on discovering what the hell is going on. The trick will be whether he can stay alive long enough to unearth the answers.

"I'm not going to recap the back cover, you can read that yourself.

Excellent thriller. I did figure out who did it before the reveal, but not long before. The story twists and turns, making nearly everyone a suspect at one point or another. The pieces come together in the end, making it a satisfying resolution.

Very good read. Well worth the time."
"I finished this one in a hurry. My first Linwood Barclay since I read "No Time for Goodbye" in 2008. It's odd it took me this long to read another of his books considering how much I loved that 2008 hit. I was a young international student working at a bookstore. We had a lot of selling contests and I picked No Time for Goodbye as my book to sell. And sell it I did. To this day, that book is one of my very favorite wtf-is-going-on-books. It was the book that opened the door to the world of thrillers for me. If you haven't read it, do it.
The author: 7/5
I really, really like this author. When I finished this book, I didn't feel the normal sting of missing the characters of a great story finished. I instead found myself flying through the acknowledgements ( which I never read ) with a big smile on my face. Because Mr Barclay's style of writing makes me feel like it is HIM I get to know. And I feel as though I met a new friend rather than saying goodbye to the hero of a story. I love the way he writes about women because you can feel the respect he has, and the awareness of how women are treated is reflected in many of his characters thoughts and actions. The world needs more Linwood Barclays.
THIS book: 4.5/5
This story was incredibly well written. The finishing line of the prologue made me itch to devour the rest of the book right away. The pace is great and although the big reveal at the end wasn't a shock, I have to admit that is only because I suspected everyone and anyone at some point in this book. Missing that shock is the only reason this isn't 5/5. The story will suck you in and have you asking WTF IS GOING ON?! many, many times. I kept thinking that I had it figured out. But I was always wrong. I read this book in a couple of days. It was a very easy, well paced, and addictive read. Highly recommend!
Next, I'm going to order in Find You First by Barclay and will report when finished."
