Hollywood history, mystery, murder, mayhem, and delicious romance collide in this unputdownable thriller from master storyteller Katie Alender.Willa is freaking out. It seems like she's seeing things. Like a dead body in her swimming pool. Frantic messages on her walls. A reflection that is not her own. It's almost as if someone -- or something -- is trying to send her a message.Meanwhile, a killer is stalking Los Angeles -- a killer who reenacts famous movie murder scenes. Could Willa's strange visions have to do with these unsolved murders? Or is she going crazy? And who can she confide in? There's Marnie, her new friend who may not be totally trustworthy. And there's Reed, who's ridiculously handsome and seems to get Willa. There's also Wyatt, who's super smart but unhealthily obsessed with the Hollywood Killer. All Willa knows is, she has to confront the possible-ghost in her house, or she just might lose her mind . . . or her life.Acclaimed author Katie Alender puts an unforgettable twist on this spine-chilling tale of murder, mystery, mayhem -- and the movies.

"Juvenile fiction is a very accurate genre for this piece, but don't let that steer you away from a easy read with a good story. I read this book at the ripe age of 8, if I can properly recall, but it's fluence still has a chokehold on me over a decade later. When people ask me about my favorite book (which isn't often, unfortunately) I always say Alive by Chandler Baker and Famous Last Words by Katie Alender. What I appreciate about this book is how everything is inspired by horror classics, the one that stood out to me the most being Birds. This books does not shy away from tinges of gore and some more mature themes - mostly implied. The way it was written, so detailed, has lasting images in my mind; many "scenes" from the book I can remember vividly due to the fact that it was like watching a movie. I definitely don't want to spoil it for people who haven't read it and might have some interest, but I give this book - for the general fiction reader community - a solid 9/10, only because of the age group it's pushed at. "What a deliciously charming mystery read. I recommend this to anyone who loves Old Hollywood and a good mystery. It reminded me of how much I love "Scream" and also a good ghost story. The character development was marvelous to unravel as I tried to piece together the whole puzzle. I really enjoyed reading this!!"
"I liked the mystery and not knowing what could happen next. I also liked trying to figure out the killer."

"This book had a lot of potential, but it didn't deliver for me. It should have been a fast read but I wasn't as enthralled by it so it dragged on. I usually love YA, but this one was just too shallow for my taste. There were too many plot conveniences. I don't feel like I cared much about any of the characters and there was no real character development. I didn't buy into the whole ghost thing either. A ghost story line is already a hard topic to write about, but it's possible, I liked how [b:Liv, Forever|18077961|Liv, Forever|Amy Talkington|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1392848882s/18077961.jpg|25384385] did it.

It was a disappointing read for me. I couldn't get over Willa's name. What is it with ridiculous character names?"
