"<strong>Great but story but left mysteries unsolved...</strong><br/><br/>Maddie had planned out her perfect life only to have her wedding be canceled. She is notified that her great aunt left her something and heads to New Bison for an unexpected new life.<br/>Not only does she find herself with a new business and a house. She also is the proud owner of a Mastiff named Baby. And before she can get settled, she's in the middle of a murder investigation.<br/>The build up was good, and the characters were fun to get to know. But through the process of solving the mystery, there were 2 specific points that were mentioned that just seemed to have been forgotten at the end of the book. <br/>There are major questions Maddie should have that mske her uneasy in her day to day life. I know there's a book 2, so maybe this will be an ongoing mystery. <br/>I would have given it 4 stars, but the ending just left things too wide open, and I had to go back and reread the last chapter to make sure I hadn't missed something.<br/>This is my first book by this author, and I'll definitely be reading more."
"Cozy mystery with fun characters, it had me actually cackling. But some of the language caught me off guard, and with such an abrupt ending I think there are so many loose ends."

"This was a cute cozy mystery. A bit of laughter plus some great characters made this book a delight. I would give this book a little over 4 stars, but not quite 4.5 which is why I rounded down. The wrap-up felt like the author reached the end and didn't quite know how to bring it home with a bang. It was still a good read and I recommend reading this book. I also appreciated the recipes at the end of the book. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series and the next one after that. Overall, it was a great performance and I hope Maddie Montgomery will continue sleuthing. If this was on the Hallmark channel, I would definitely watch it."
