There’s no such thing as witches…right?Emerson Wilde has built the life of her dreams. Youngest Chamber of Commerce president in St. Cyprian history, successful indie bookstore owner, and lucky enough to have her best friends as found family? Done. But when Emerson is attacked by creatures that shouldn’t be real, and kills them with what can only be called magic, Emerson finds that the past decade of her life has been…a lie. St. Cyprian isn't your average Midwestern river town—it’s a haven for witches. When Emerson failed a power test years ago, she was stripped of her magical memories. Turns out, Emerson’s friends are all witches. And so is she. That's not all, though: evil is lurking in the charming streets of St. Cyprian. Emerson will need to learn to control what’s inside of her, remember her magic, and deal with old, complicated feelings for her childhood friend--cranky-yet-gorgeous local farmer Jacob North—to defeat an enemy that hides in the rivers and shadows of everything she loves.Even before she had magic, Emerson would have done anything for St. Cyprian, but now she’ll have to risk not just her livelihood…but her life.Want more witchy romance? "Refreshing in its simplicity and whimsical nature, I can confidently say that this book is an entertaining read. While I originally struggled with Emerson’s inflated and frustratingly opinionated narration, I conceded to the deeper significance of her extreme directness and clear cut approach to her life. It was healing to see her character evolve as she essentially learned how to create a work-life balance lol. It was nice to see a confident MC for a change but it definitely got a little redundant, made tolerable by some measurable inner growth. I wish we got a little more complexity from the supporting characters, though their distinct traits created the perfect magical friend group. Overall though this book had some quirks it was an easy and fun read: perfect for anyone looking to get out of a reading slump. Beware: it ends on a cliffhanger 👎"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I enjoyed this book for some parts and it made me excited for witchlore. Emerson made me very annoyed sometimes but her character development in the end gave her some redeeming qualities. The book ended on a cliff hanger and since I’m excited to see what happens next and want to read about it that’s why I gave it 4 stars. I wouldn’t label this book as a romance book, it’s a love story for ones self and their chosen family. "
"This was so good. The descriptions were wonderful. The movie that played out in my head was very detailed"

"I found it hard to get into, and it didn’t really keep my interest. It had the potential to be a really good book, but it was not one of my favorites. "

"A great book for spooky season with the right balance of serious, mystery, romance, and whimsy. Some may find main character, Emerson Wilde, to be a bit insufferable at first, but her charm grows as she learns to rely more on her tight-knit group of friends throughout the book as she navigates new discoveries about her life. Readers of Payback’s a Witch by Lana Harper will enjoy this. I hope there is a second book in the works!"
