Blood & Honey

"Reread<br/><br/>The Curse of the Second Book. I am on the band wagon with everyone else. This was 100% filler and what is now a trilogy should have been a duology. Usually I take notes as I read, highlights on what I was passionate about, hate or love it didn't matter. I write down my immediate thoughts. There is barely anything for this book. I felt blank. The three stars are merely for the respect of book one.<br/><br/>Whatever emotion was used to write Serpent and Dove dissolved in the wake of this story. It seemed as though the characters were on a mindless journey dragging through the muck to waste time. Even their attempts at gaining friends seemed to be half-assed. Reid was told to train with magic to make friends all to save his wife so he dug his heels in and sulked about it.<br/><br/>The plot was non-existent, the story bland. Then out of no where we have a host of mythical creatures we didn't know where real. Of course Lou's mother is trying to kill her "again", God's come down out of thin air to do nothing, the team splits up to stall the relationships. Serpent and Dove was brought so high on Ried and Lou's secret damning love. They just bickering the whole time in the this story and it wasn't the fun kind. They repeatedly complained about the same tthing. <br/><br/>Lou had an interesting character arc I am curious to see where it leads. Thats pretty much it.....<br/><br/>Ried- "Tell me you didn't steal it. Tell me you found it in a hole somewhere."<br/>Lou-"Alright! I didn't steal it. I found it in a hole somewhere."<br/>Reid- "Lou!!!"<br/>Lou- "Whaaaat?""

"I loved the deeper dive into magic we got in Blood & Honey and I loved the new characters too. However, I found myself a little disappointed as I read because of the relationship problems Lou and Reid were going through. I completely understand why the difficulties were occurring but it felt like they had regressed back to square one and lost all of the amazing development I adored in Serpent & Dove. I’m so excited for Gods & Monsters because the ending to Blood & Honey was a whirlwind, I just wish I had enjoyed the book a bit more."

"Was actually not bad, definitely could be slow if you weren’t hooked with the first book there were moments it caught a few and the ending was Interesting to say the least. A part of the ending was like “seriously” but overall not bad at all :) "

"The first installment was fantastic which is why I am so disgruntled about this one. If you loved Serpent and Dove I'd implore you to preserve it's memory and skip Blood and Honey. The most interesting part of the book is the blood witches, which are just barely in the book. Perhaps the third installment is better but after this I don't know if I want to give it a chance. "

"Definitely a filler book to prepare you for the last in the trilogy coming out next month but it kept me invested in the characters in the mean time! "

"The middle section of this book really was making it a struggle for me to continue reading it. However the last like 1/4 of the book really was good. The cliff hanger at the end definitely has me desperate to read the next one."
