Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd. But six years haven’t come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd’s obituary, he can’t keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for...but she is not Natalie. As Jake searches for the truth, his picture-perfect memories of Natalie begin to unravel. "3.5 stars"

"This was kind of confusing to read, I kept not being able to understand was the writer was trying to portray, but at the end everything came into place. I think the end was perfect, you don't cling onto the unrealistic hopes of your past life, but move on and the sorrow is replaced by a new life."
"Actual rating: 3.5 stars.

I have been a bit behind on my HC books of late, so it's been a while since I've read any of his stuff. As usual, I really enjoyed Coben's style. The casual, self-deprecating protagonist with a dry wit.

I always enjoy a story so much more when I can make a genuine personal connection with the story. This was especially true with this book. No, my life hasn't involved the shady aspects of what Jake encounters, but there were still many moments, or should I say sentiments, that really resonated with me. I was hoping for something like that from this, and I wasn't disappointed.

Yes, it was a bit formulaic. Yes, I figured out much of the ending before the reveal. But I didn't enjoy the book any less for it."
