What happens when the fictional 'perfect guy' comes to life and is convinced you're his soulmate? While her parents are away for the week, sixteen-year-old Ivy McIntosh plans on binge-watching her favourite TV show and hanging out with her best friend, Henry. But things quickly go downhill on the very first morning, when Ivy wakes up to find Weston, the gorgeous lead character of her favourite show, in her bedroom. And, oh yeah, he thinks that she's his soulmate. Ivy realizes that her writing has somehow brought Weston as she's imagined him to life, and now he's living out her fanfiction dreams. But those fairytale dreams soon turn into disasters. Mack, Ivy's best-friend-turned-enemy who lives next door, and Henry get involved and the three of them need to figure out why Weston is here and how to get rid of him. As Ivy and Mack grow closer again, old feelings resurface and they finally face the fallout of their broken friendship, and question if they've both secretly always wanted something more . . . The new sapphic YA friends-to-enemies-to-lovers novel from bestselling author Sophie Gonzales, with her trademark humour and heart.

"So so SO cute!! Reading this felt like such a throwback to my high school days and I loved it. It was definitely cliche and not as advanced as I sometimes prefer my literature but the fun of it more than made up for it. I loved the fandom references and adored all the characters (especially Henry!!). The queer representation was so good and the omegaverse reference absolutely killed me. The twist at the end was enjoyable and for a sec I really thought it was all going to be a dream (thank god it was not)! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fast, fun read. This is especially enjoyable if you’re really into fandom culture and queer! "
"My second Sophie Gonzalez book, and it ended up being pretty fun overall. The whole fanfiction character comes to life story was unique and also fun, Weston made me laugh despite being a walking red flag, but that’s the whole point of his character really. It gave the book these gigantic Disney Channel vibes, and it was really lighthearted. Mac and Ivy ended up being a cute main couple, but I found the reason for their original friendship breakup was really childlike and should’ve been more developed, plus it wasn’t the strongest romance ever, so I wish that there was more on page development. I did like that even though they were enemies, they weren’t full on fighting and at the most were just snarky with each other, which is rare in enemies-to-lovers. I don’t really have much more to say about this book, but I would say that it’s a good read for simple sapphic romances and humorous and creative reads. "
"This book was just overall very fine. The characters were fine, the plot was fine, the pace was fine. The chemistry wasn’t really palpable, I think mostly because the two points in time in which we saw our love interests interact was when their friendship was falling apart, and their tentative regaining friendship, which was taken over by the main plot point of Weston poofing into existence. The main reason I wanted the two of them together was because Ivy, our mc, wanted them to be together. <br/>Oberall, it was cute, funny, a good ya. Not my favorite Sophie Gonzales book, but I’d still read more. Major shout out for aroace rep!!"
