A vivid and moving reimagining of the myth of Medusa and the sisters who loved her.“A gorgeously crafted retelling of Greek mythology, Medusa’s Sisters is a celebration of the many faces love can wear.” —BookPage (starred review)"Perfect for fans of Circe, this is easily one of the best books I’ve read this year. Prepare to be enthralled!”—Stephanie Marie Thornton, USA Today bestselling author of Her Lost Words*A BookPage Best Book of 2023: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror*The end of the story is only the beginning…Even before they were transformed into Gorgons, Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale were unique among their immortal family. Curious about mortals and their lives, Medusa and her sisters entered the human world in search of a place to belong, yet quickly found themselves at the perilous center of a dangerous Olympian rivalry and learned—too late—that a god's love is a violent one. Forgotten by history and diminished by poets, the other two Gorgons have never been more than horrifying hags, damned and doomed. But they were sisters first, and their journey from lowly sea-born origins to the outskirts of the pantheon is a journey that rests, hidden, underneath their scales. Monsters, but not monstrous, Stheno and Euryale will step into the light for the first time to tell the story of how all three sisters lived and were changed by each other, as they struggle against the inherent conflict between sisterhood and individuality, myth and truth, vengeance and peace.

"This book is I don’t even know how to say it…I read this yesterday. Once I started, I could not stop until I finished. I was riveted by this version of Medusa’s story, along with Stheno and Euryale’s stories, too. This was such a poignant story that caused me a lot of reflection and deep thoughts and I felt for them. I felt for Medusa and her tragic tale, as well as her sisters and their tales, tainted simply by being Medusa’s sister. This story reminded me of how each person has their own story regardless of their family and/or friends and that family always comes through in the end whether it’s the family you’re born with, the family you make, or the family you find. I have been feeling a lot of feels and reflecting a lot after reading this story and it’s not often lately that a story causes me to wax this philosophical or reflect and think this deeply. This one reminded me why I love mythology so much and why I’m taking a class in it and working on my own spin on a mythological tale. This story brought me back to myself in a way and I love it. I’ve been considering reading it again already and started thinking of more mythology, retelling ideas from reading this. I can’t express in words how great this story is, but you all need to read it when it comes out, which is next week. It’s a major 5-star read for me - I’d give it more stars if I could. Pre-order it and get ready for an amazing tale with all the feels and things in it. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group/Ace for letting me read and review this fantastic story. All thoughts and opinions are my own."
