"The first book is a bit of a genre bender, but don't let that keep you from this delightful, funny, endearing series. Other than the first, the books are NOT like the movies and you don't have to wait to see or read all of one to take on the other. There are no real spoilers. If you'd enjoy a cozier, more humorous approach to Sherlock Holmes with a strong female lead, you'll love these books! Better than the films! "

"A bit more cheery compared to the other recs but it's one of my favorite.
It should count right? Set in the 1800's there is a mystery and the protagonist solves them while hiding from her brothers. It shows how she would act as a full grown woman and how women in that time would live."
