Stephen King
Master storyteller Stephen King presents the “powerful” (Time) #1 New York Times bestselling classic thriller about a housekeeper with a long-hidden secret from her past—one that tests her own will to survive. When Vera Donovan, one of the wealthiest and most ill-natured residents of Maine’s Little Tall Island, dies suddenly in her home, suspicion is immediately cast on her housekeeper and caretaker, Dolores Claiborne. Dolores herself is no stranger to such mistrust, thanks to the local chatter and mysterious circumstances surrounding her abusive husband’s death twenty-nine years earlier. But if this is truly to be the day of Dolores Claiborne’s reckoning, she has a few things of her own that she’d like to get off her chest...and begins to confess a spirited, intimate, and harrowing tale of the darkest secrets hidden within her hardscrabble existence, revealing above all one woman’s unwavering determination to weather the storm of her life with grace and protect the one she loves, no matter what the cost...

"i absolutely adore this book it is so good i love how the story is told and i love the characters. i felt really emotional when Vera died even though i knew from the beginning she would and the twist of her children actually being dead really got me i was so shocked i highly recommended this book and it should really be more popular i couldn’t put it down until i was falling asleep!"
"This is not like anything from Stephen king I have read before. Definitely not a terror book...without giving too much a way the entire book is a monologue of one woman's account of her life (dolores) there are no chapters or bridges 300 pages. If you can get through the first 50 it's worth it. Disturbing at parts but worth it. Good for a weekend read. "
"We are truly blessed to have Stephen in our literary lives. Honestly, I’m convinced the man could hand in his grocery list, and it would still be a bestseller. Nothing he puts to paper could possibly do us wrong. I actually laughed out loud multiple times during this one. Two powerhouse women clawing their way to the top of a man's world. I love how it feels like we're placed right in the middle of that interview listening to Dolores tell her side of the story."
"Great story! The book was so much better then the movie!"
