Stephen King
A #1 national bestseller—“A yarn so packed with suspense, romance, literary reference, fascinating miscellaneous knowledge, and heart that only Stephen King could have written it. Marvelous—that is, full of marvels” (Booklist).Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier, until he’s barely sleeping at all. During his late night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people’s heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep. There’s a definite mean streak running through this small New England city; underneath its ordinary surface awesome and terrifying forces are at work. The dying has been going on in Derry for a long, long time. Now Ralph is part of it…and lack of sleep is the least of his worries. Returning to the same Maine town where It took place, a town that has haunted Stephen King for decades, Insomnia blends King’s trademark bone-chilling realism with supernatural terror to create yet another masterpiece of suspense.

"Little men, an alternate dimension ,a crimson king? Ralph Roberts is plagued by insomnia after the death of his wife, as days and nights blur together Ralph becomes awake in a way he never thought possible. Nothing short of the details written by Stephen King this book has a lot to follow. It took me until literally half the book for things to start moving, but once it did it did not stop. This book may have not been one of my favorites but I enjoyed reading about an elderly hero!"
"I'm rounding up my stars for this one. The first half of the book would get 2⭐ and the second half would get 4⭐. The second half was amazing, and I wish this would have been two separate books.

This book was, unfortunately, entirely too long. The build-up was just so slow. The payoff was worth it in the end, but I was incredibly bored for 300 pages (the length of a non-King book). Anyway, the last half has good action, and all the feelings. The topics are pretty relevant to things going on in society right now, so that was interesting since this book is not a new publication.

Anyway, I would give this book 3.5⭐. I really wish some of it could have been cut out because that will probably keep me from reading it again."
"I am reading this right now and I love it I am a huge fan of Steven king now "

"DO NOT do the audible version. Slow and audio levels very, VERY off.
Story itself is emotional, more so than anything else I’ve read from King. Some deep moments, mixed with very bizarre. "

"A lot of fuller, got to be quite tedious to read. Usually the 1st 100 or so pages of stephen king can be long and daunting, but this was like 500 pages of over explaining and getting into minute detail nobody needed followed by 100 pages of things happening, no suspense, just events unfolding. The only thing that kept me going was that it was set in Derry with plenty of It references."
