"This was a really good ghost story that had some twists and turns at the end. A man escaping his life with his two daughters, end up in Texas to find out the mystery of a very oddly made house. The owner, a very wealthy woman, will pay him handsomely for staying in the house for a couple of weeks. Not until midway through the book so we find out the horrific events that plagued the house. Also, finding out why this man and his daughters are on the run seeking a place where no one knows them. There are enough ghostly spirits to keep the reader intrigued and to find out the final outcome."

"This is what I'm looking for in a haunted house premise. Loved the characters, their relationships, and the spooky factor. Did not love how I pretty much fell asleep in the end. Johnny Compton is such a promising author, I can't wait for him to write more."
