From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action.Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Kelsier and Vin have passed into the realm of history and myth, and the world of Scadrial is on the verge of modernity. In the frontier lands known as the Roughs, the old magics are a crucial tool for those who establish order and justice. One such is Waxillium Ladrian, a rare Twinborn, who can Push on metals with his Allomancy and use Feruchemy to become lighter or heavier at will. After twenty years in the Roughs, tragedy has driven Wax back to the metropolis of Elendel. Now he must reluctantly put away his guns and assume the duties of the head of a noble house. But when a gang of Allomancers turn to train robbery and kidnapping, Wax will soon learn that the mansions and elegant tree-lined streets of the city can be more dangerous than the dusty plains of the Roughs.Other Tor books by Brandon SandersonThe CosmereThe Stormlight ArchiveThe Way of KingsWords of RadianceEdgedancer (novella)OathbringerDawnshard (novella)Rhythm of WarThe Mistborn SagaThe Original TrilogyMistbornThe Well of AscensionThe Hero of AgesWax and WayneThe Alloy of LawShadows of SelfThe Bands of MourningThe Lost MetalOther Cosmere novelsElantrisWarbreakerTress of the Emerald SeaYumi and the Nightmare PainterThe Sunlit ManCollectionArcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere CollectionThe Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians seriesAlcatraz vs. the Evil LibrariansThe Scrivener's BonesThe Knights of CrystalliaThe Shattered LensThe Dark TalentBastille vs. the Evil Librarians (with Janci Patterson)Other novelsThe RithmatistLegion: The Many Lives of Stephen LeedsThe Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval EnglandOther books by Brandon SandersonThe ReckonersSteelheartFirefightCalamitySkywardSkywardStarsightCytonicSkyward Flight (with Janci Patterson)DefiantAt the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

"Probably my favorite book from both Mistborn eras. A wonderful introduction to a quirky set of characters, a dizzying mystery, fantasy cowboys and politicians, and oh my GOD the worldbuilding expanding on the original Mistborn series! Singlehandedly made me a Western fan."

"“We call it the ‘broken windows’ theory. If a man sees a broken window in a building, he’s more likely to rob or commit other crimes, since he figures nobody cares. If all the windows are maintained, all the streets clean, all the buildings washed, then crime goes down. Just as a hot day can make a person irritable, it appears that a run-down area can make an ordinary man into a criminal.” - Marasi Colms, Ch 9.<br/>I read books to escape our society peddling gross classist pro-gentrification copaganda, not have the protagonists ram it down my throat. Et tu, Brandon? What happened to your protagonists being valiant paupers?"
"Different enough from the Mistborn trilogy so that it doesn’t seem like stretching out a perfect series. That being said, having just finished the trilogy, this book just couldn’t stand a chance being ranked a 5 - maybe if I’d read it a few months and a few books later."

"I loved this book!! I really liked Wax. He was the moral compass in the story. The best of both worlds. He was born in the city to a prominent noble family but chose to be a law-keeper in the Roughs, away from the city. When items on trains and women are abducted by a group called The Vanishers, Wax is drawn in by Wayne to help solve the case and save the women. The interactions between Wayne and Wax were hilarious! Wayne was the funniest! I found myself laughing out loud at times during my drives to school listening to this book. It was great getting to see what the world was like after Sezid became God and all of the characters from Mistborn were all dead and gone. I really liked the western/steampunk feel of the whole book. Wax and Wayne were both twin born and this odd mixture of Allomancy and Theruchemy was fascinating. I can't wait to see what happens next in this followup series to the Mistborn trilogy."
