Tia Williams
One of TIME's 50 Best Romances to Read Right Now "Sumptuous writing" - Sarah Jessica Parker Two writers get a second chance at love in this romantic, sexy-as-hell New York Times bestselling novel. Eva Mercy is a single mom and bestselling erotica writer. Shane Hall is a reclusive, award-winning novelist. When the two meet at a literary event, sparks fly, raising not only their buried traumas, but the eyebrows of the Black literati. What no one knows is that when they were teenager, Eva and Shane spent one crazy week madly in love. They can pretend they've never met, but they can't deny their chemistry--or the fact that they've been secretly writing to each other in their books through the years. With its keen observations of creative life in America today, as well as the joys and complications of being a mother and a daughter, Seven Days in June is a hilarious starcrossed romance. "4/5 ⭐️ this book is beautifully written and has so many thought provoking topics and moments. The second chance romance and time jumps were very engaging. There were also some heartbreaking moments!! Fantastic chronic illness/disability rep. The characters both being authors made my heart so happy. The end felt a little rushed for me and I lost interest a little but overall or was such a beautifully written book and for sure worth a read. 1/5 spice level. There are some open door scenes but the spice is not a central focus on the book. "
"4.5 ⭐️ I loved this second chance romance about youth, resilience, pain, loss and love. All of the characters are wonderfully complicated. The author handles their challenges so well. There were moments where I laughed out loud and moments where I was deeply touched. Excellent writing."
"This is one of my top favorite books of all time I loved it so much its tragically beautiful the two main characters are authors which is a trope I'm starting to love the story feels so modern it's funny and so sad and real all at the same time it's a vary deep and multi dimensional for it being romance its not one like I've ever read definitely top tier and it does takes place in June and had all the summer feels a great summer read "
"I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book, but the writing style just wasn’t for me. Too many of the millennials trying too hard to make relatable gen z references. The mc’s knew each other for a week doing drugs getting high and drinking and somehow made the best connection ever? I just couldn’t feel their connection "
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
My first Tia William book and wow I wish I would’ve read this earlier. I loved the love story, I felt like I was in an emotional rollercoaster and though overall it was also very funny. I generally don’t like third person books as much as first person, but the way Tia Williams wrote this book was so beautiful. I will say, the middle was a little bit lackluster for me and that it had maybe 1 too many **** scenes but that’s more personal preference as someone who doesn’t read much ****. Overall I absolutely loved this book, I really enjoyed the love and the story of it. I’m excited to read my next Tia Williams book! "
"“Stop writing about me.”
“You first.”
Seven days in June was so cute, this was one of my fav YA romances. It was cute and simple, if you’re in a reading slump, read this book. Shane and Eva probably will still love each other in the multiverse, if yk, yk.
Tia Williams, please make a movie out of Seven Days in June. You already made “The Perfect Find” roll on out onto Netflix. Shane and Eva definitely deserve their own film. "
"I absolutely loved this book. The deep, dark, and heavy young-love story I read wasn’t something I’d ever encountered in a book before and had a very different feel to it. If felt real and I saw their lives in a movie-like sense the way William’s structured the novel. The connections between the two were beautiful and the book did not disappoint!!
P.S. I agree this book would make such a beautiful movie but I know for a fact that a film adaption of this movie would not do it Justice!"
