'A convincing small-town setting, clever contemporary dialogue, compelling characterizations and a touch of cool humor .... This story's special strength lies in its seamless incorporation of the supernatural into the real world.' - Publishers Weekly'Armstrong has a good ear for dialogue, and the main characters, especially Jaime and Eve, stand out in full colour.' - Winnipeg Free PressBook six in Kelley Armstrong's supernatural series marks the return of werewolf Elena Michaels from BITTEN and STOLEN. When half-demon Xavier calls in the favour Elena owes him, it seems easy enough - steal Jack the Ripper's 'From Hell' letter away from a Toronto collector who had himself stolen it from the Ripper evidence boxes in the Metropolitan Police files. But nothing in the supernatural world is ever as simple as it seems. Elena accidentally triggers a spell placed on the letter, and manages to tear an opening that leads into the nether regions of Victorian London. Toronto may be looking for a tourism boost, but 'Gateway to Hell' isn't quite the new slogan the city had in mind . . .A brilliant novel of suspense with a supernatural twist - packaged in the stunning new Kelley Armstrong series style.Books by Kelley Armstrong: Women of the Otherworld series Bitten Stolen Dime Store Magic Industrial Magic Haunted Broken No Humans Involved Personal Demon Living with the Dead Frost Bitten Walking the Witch Spellbound Thirteen Nadia Stafford Exit Strategy Made to be Broken Wild JusticeRocktonCity of the LostA Darkness AbsoluteThis Fallen PreyWatcher in the WoodsAlone in the Wild Darkest Powers The Summoning The Awakening The Reckoning Otherworld Tales Men of the Otherworld Tales of the Otherworld Otherworld Nights Otherworld Secrets Otherworld Chills Darkness Rising The Gathering The Calling The Rising Cainsville Omens Visions Deceptions Betrayals Rituals

"Oh, boy, this wasn't great.<br/><br/>Great narration, (the audiobook.)<br/><br/>But the lackluster story was tedious to finish.<br/><br/>It was filled with cliches and uninteresting characters. The author relied on rape too much as a plot device and to give the heroine a personality, and it did nothing for the story or the character.<br/><br/>Very weak main characters and a shady way of dealing with a sensitive subject such as rape. I was uncomfortable. It did not help the fact the hero decided halfway through the book that he didn't believe that the heroine was raped, because she went on a date... Ew."
"So I really had to think of how to write this review. Don’t get me wrong I liked the book and some parts I loved and adored. <br/><br/><br/>The Book starts off strong and with a tragic event that ripped Asher and Eli Apart. <br/>Now several years later they reunite. The grief, hurt, and betrayal are still there. <br/><br/> About sixty percent in is when for me I started to lose interest. Didn't get me wrong about the sex scenes are well written. My concern is some parts are repetitive and seemed prolonged. <br/><br/><br/>"

"I loved this, but the thing that drove me batty was the constant running away on Elliot's part. I understand grief, but geez."
