"I'm having a hard time with my review of Hard Bitten. I had notes about what I wanted to point out but when I got to the last few chapters, it's all I can think about. Not sure if that is the way it was supposed to be, but that is the way it is, at least with me. I'm not completely sure what Chloe Neill has in store for the next one, but it seems she's left a window open for hope. The only thing that sucks completely is, I can't tell you guys. I can't talk about it for at least another two weeks or so until people start to read it.

Hard Bitten had a great story. I like how Chloe Neill can write things and have them turn out completely opposite of what I would have thought would go down. The GP offers up some resistance and obstacles for Merit and Cadogan House. It was interesting to read and see the mind set of a vampire who was ages older than Merit and what he thought was pressing. While I've waiting for things with Celina to be resolved and it looks like things aren't as over as I might have thought they'd end up.

Merit is a character you just can't help but love. She's strong, vulnerable, human, protector, friend and lover. I was aching with her at the end, the revelations that were shown. She's grown so much in the few books we've seen her with and I'm anxiously waiting to see how she copes with everything in the next book. She's a fighter. Even with things ending the way they did, even if I didn't like the way it ended, it isn't the end of the story.

I love this series. Even with an ending I hated, I still love it. I don't know if that makes sense. It drew emotions out of me so fast. One minute I was happy, the next crying. Yes, actual tears. Hopefully, if you haven't read Hard Bitten, or the series Chicagoland Vampires, you will give it a chance. You won't be disappointed.

*Book won through GoodReads First Reads giveaway*"
