"Read this again in preparation for the show. While the show gives the novel so much more depth in other areas nothing beats Polin’s story as it is written here. Here their love is the center, it is sexy and endearing. This is the first time during the series where I have to say, the book is better."

"However, this might come as a surprise. But I am really hoping that Bridgerton's season 3 of Colin and Penelope's story, is absolutely nothing like Book 4! 🙏 I was shocked by the events/behaviours in Colin and Penelope's story in Book 4 and I literally dreaded reading it to the point of skipping pages/chapters just to get through the rest of the book. Bridgerton's Book 4 discouraged me from continuing to read its book series altogether, that plus I was told by friends that Book 5 was dull. So I never picked up the next book afterwards.
So with that said, I will be solely relying on the show's adaptions of the rest of the Bridgerton book series, to complete my experience of its stories.
Further reasonings below:
Spoiler warning* Book 4: I really disliked Colin's sudden change of persona in his own story (book 4). I was screaming asshole at Colin many times, his behaviour and attitude was totally left field. I really hope that the producers don't have Colin betray those awful qualities from the book into the show.
I truly love Colin's bubbly personality and humour in both season 1-2 and in book 2-3. So like I mentioned before, it was a complete shock to read book 4 (his story) and discover that our lovable Colin was completely the opposite of good. "
"Absolutely amazing!!! I love Colin and his huge appetite and Penelope finally getting everything she deserves. And they are both writers!!! I love the dark scene with all my heart, where they are arguing in the dark and end up having their first time. Their relationship is much different then the first three books in the way it grows and shapes from friends to lovers :)"
