"4.5 stars

This book took me way too long to finally pick up but I loved it!! Joy was so unapologetic about who she is and while she still struggled with feelings of inadequacy (especially revolving around relationships) she knew exactly who she was and didn’t hesitate to tell people. I think her inadequacy struggles is what mainly kept her yearning for Malcolm even though she knew they would be terrible for each other. I loved Fox a lot and I loved how he was able to help Joy realize that she could be loved the way she wants! My only complaint is that I wish we got more Fox and I think it would’ve been great to have a little more in the end! But overall, it was really cute!!"
"switching to third person after reading first person for so long really threw me off. and the constant switching between descriptions of scenes/outfits/characters, past memories, and present plot made me hesitant. but something about this book was destined to find me at this point in my life, because i held onto my own “malcolm” for years with the same beliefs that no one would understand me like he did. and then my own “fox” came in the past week and made the healing process easier and smoother. like fox and joy, they were left on a question mark for their relationship/friendship and i’m hoping that their happily ever after (that i’ve created in my mind) happens soon for me too. even tho i was very hesitant in the first few chapters, this book was destined to reach my hands at this point of my life, help me heal, and move on from my “malcolm”"
