"This was an odd book, with a unique protagonist who has an imaginary friend based on the Antarctic explorer Lawrence "Titus" Oates. I also found it all rather compelling and needing to know if she makes it out alive. As a child I had wanted to visit Antarctica--I think I was intrigued with a place that not many had been to and just the very different, uninhabitable landscape. This brings up that wonder but also the sheer terror of the place. I wasn't a fan of the ending, but overall was engaged in the narrative."
