And nothing will stop her from saving her true love. The Kingdoms of Sand & Sky TrilogyBook 1: The Princess Will Save YouBook 2: The Queen Will Betray YouBook 3: The King Will Kill YouPraise for The Princess Will Save You“Everything we love about YA fantasy, complete with first love, sweeping adventure, and a fierce heroine who holds her own. There’s something for everyone in this book.”—Adrienne Young, New York Times bestselling author of The Sky in the Deep“An action-packed adventure with a fierce heroine that is sure to enthrall! "I’m surprised that I actually liked this book. Based off of the premise I thought I would hate it, but it turned out to be enjoyable. I expected the boy to be useless and the princess annoying and the romance too much, but the boy was useful the princess wasn’t as bad I thought she would be she was capable and competent but I’m still figuring out how I feel about her character, and last but not least, the romance wasn’t overdone. Interestingly, there were quite a few elements that reminded me of The Princess Bride which I found interesting. Overall I enjoyed the book. I’m not sure if it’s one that I would do again but I do think it was worth doing once."
"I haven't really read fantasy in a long while, and I don't really plan to, but this is the type of fantasy that will never be hard to read. It was easy to get into, and when I set it down I was eager to pick it back up because the adventure and watching the pieces fall all over the place not knowing how it will all settle was genuinely compelling. I did not see the twists coming. I will say that in a way this kind of reads more like a movie than your average book. If that makes sense at all."

"Thank you so much to Macmillan-Tor/Forge for access to this NetGalley digital ARC.

Do you love "The Princess Bride"? Do you enjoy gender-bend takes on your favorite stories? Then you need this fantastic book in your collection! Henning masterfully crafts a fantastic land full of politcal intrigue between kingdoms and peppers it with elements inspired by "The Princess Bride". Some details are so minute, only the most avid of fans will notice them (It's my all-time favorite movie and one of my favorite books, so I had a lot of fun trying to pick out every single reference!)

Amarande is a bold princess, daughter of a warrior king. She spends her days training alongside her beloved stableboy Luca and learning to be the next ruler of the great kingdom of Ardenia. However, Amarande's world begins to fall apart at the seams when her father, the king, dies mysteriously. Soon neighboring kingdoms begin vying for the princess's hand in marriage and her own council is trying to sell her off to the highest bidder. When Luca, her true love, is taken captive by a band of three pirates, it's up to Amarande to save him, stop her own blackmail-driven wedding, and protect her kingdom from a massive war. This story is packed to the brim with action, adventure and romance!

Character backstories and secrets crop up along the way, and will leave readers with a driving need for the next installment in the series!"
"overall a solid beginner fantasy book. i’m not pretending it’s my favorite, but it’s solid. it’s a little slow and dragged out, but it’s good.

i’m glad i’m listening and don’t have to read the fantasy names. i don’t think i’d be able to pronounce them."

"When I first started reading the book, I couldn't see the princess bride connection. But as of the book moved on and towards the end it became very obvious. I really like this book. The plot is good. It keeps you reading. Wondering what's going to happen next. I'm anxious to read the next book and see where the story goes from there. There was a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. There were also parts that I saw coming to miles away. I don't want to spoil anything in my review, but I'm hoping that two things I think are true will be true in the next book."
"The first part of the book was a little too slow for my tastes, but by the end, I was quite enraptured! Knowing it was similar to the Princess Bride was helpful in understanding, so if you haven’t read/watched that… do! The love interest wasn’t my favorite, but the MC definitely grew on me, and the side characters were excellent. I would recommend to anyone who has a hankering for a good, classic romance with fun and suspenseful twists😉. "
"This series was an absolute mess. Between overwhelming telling instead of showing, lack of necessary character reactions, and a confusing history, I found myself torn between rooting more for the villain or DNFing. "
