"My obsession with this book is legendary.
And READERS this is the best book ever. Something you didn't think you needed.
A cheeky take on one of my favorite tropes.
In short, you are going to love everything about this book and I'd love to tell you my favorite parts. Starting with -- The whole damn book.
Listen we all know, Melanie Moreland doesn't 'stay in her lane'. Sometimes we get angsty then she give us romantic suspense, and then small-town found family goodness.
This time she looked at the lanes and said "Hells Bells. Let's drive down the middle and give each one some of both". AND I AM HERE FOR IT.
Yes, it's literally forced proximity. Yes, we got an older man who thinks he is going to fix all the heroine's problems because he is more worldly and has the money to do so. Yes, she is sassy and not going to give his overbearing ways one inch. Until they finally give into the undeniable chemisty.
Dante is the alpha, possessive hero perfection who has no idea who cupid is and why he is no longer acting rationally. AND I AM HERE FOR IT.
Brianna is the sassy, hustling heroine who has been dealt the crap hand in life but isn't going to allow it (or her crappy boss) let her take the eye off the prize. Until one night she happens to go to sleep (aided) and wakes up in Italy. The prize may have changed.
They are the sunshine to each others grumpiness. They are impulsivity to the others ordered lives. They are the missing piece of their souls and everyone (readers) can see it and we get the perfect light bulb moments and crashing of walls we need.
Mkay - I need you to read this book. Because for me to discuss "my favorite scene", it's the whole damn book. Honestly there is nothing I would change. And I should know because I've read it at least 12 times by now.
Okay one part - if you are a girl like me, Melanie Moreland wrote the mirror scene for us. IYKYK We want to be seen for all our beautiful parts. And Dante SLAYS the swoons in this scene.

"Take three. Yes, it has taken me three tries to write this review!
Oh, Dante! Oh, Brianna! This book is wonderful! It was such an unexpected, and the perfect book. I feel like I have waited all year for this book…oh wait I have!!!
Brianna, what I love about Brianna. She is a feisty, snarky, take no prisoners,(ha ha, because she is the one kidnapped) type of girl. I loved that she was following her dreams even when she had nothing. Brianna had a rough start and had been bounced around in a foster system that didn’t care for her. Yet, she was still determined to make her dreams come true. I absolutely adore her fire and a younger version of myself related to that fire a lot.
Dante, oh Dante! Dante is a billionaire art dealer who loves sweets. He leads you to believe he is up to no good in the art world. We already know he’s capable, he kidnapped Brianna for her cakes. Their meet cute was iconic. Inspecting a gorgeous wedding cake at his niece's wedding Dante was caught by Brianna, being too close to the cake she had put all her time, money, and energy into creating. When Dante looks at her his demeanor shifts and I absolutely love that he becomes gooey cake batter over Brianna. I love his determination to make her his, his protectiveness in regards to her, and he becomes an entirely different type of alpha-hole not taking “no” for an answer. I think we all want someone like that in our life. Whether it’s a partner, a friend, a parent grandparent, we all need a hero and sometimes it’s even in ourselves.
This book was such a whirlwind and funny. The deal was 60 days and 60 cakes, but that’s a lot of cake so Dante changed the rules. But he didn’t just want her cakes. He knew he loved her instantly when he met her. He wanted to spoil her and Brianna loved every minute of it. The twist was perfect because the bad guy had done some horrible things to many people including Brianna. But did Dante do it? I love when the character you think is bad isn’t really the bad gu"
