"This is a very difficult book to read. While it is gripping, suspenseful, and terrifying, it's not a horror or a thriller in a typical way - its terror lies in the pain described in almost every aspect of the characters' lives. Like, the concept of any of the plot happening is horrifying and gets worse with every page. Very good book if you are into that.
TW/SPOILERS BELOW:
Child abuse, domestic violence, adultery, human/dog experimentation, animal abuse & graphic death, graphic murder, drug abuse, human trafficking, probably a bunch of other stuff I'm missing"
"I really enjoyed it! 4/5 stars! There were some moments I was losing focus but the last third of the book is so good it’s worth it. The twists… very well done, my mouth was agape many times. It’s not as good as The Last House on Needless Street but this is definitely an author I want to keep coming back to"
"This book had me. I just couldn't put it down. I finished it in one sitting."
