With nowhere else to go, he accepted the job as Chief of Police in a tiny, remote Alaskan town with the hopes of starting over. Despite the name, Lunacy provides a balm for Nate's shattered soul—and an unexpected affair with pilot Meg Galloway warms his nights...But other things in Lunacy are heating up. Nate suspects the killer in an unsolved murder still walks the snowy streets. His investigation will unearth the secrets and suspicions that lurk beneath the placid surface, as well as bring out the big-city survival instincts that made him a cop in the first place. And his discovery will threaten the new life—and the new love—that he has finally found for himself.

"This story was a bit long but I got lost in it. The townsfolk sturdy and welcoming. So much so I felt as though I were being welcomed by them. The scenery, the characters, all of it added so much depth to the story. Meg was fearless and straight forward, I instantly took to her. Actually all of the characters were relatable in one way or another.<br/><br/>Nora Robert's expressed so much emotion in her writing I often forgot where I was. I also enjoyed the journal entries which added another layer to the story. And omg the police logs were hilarious. Still I felt the book could have been a hundred pages shorter but then again to watch the seasons change was a pleasure.<br/><br/>The romance was on point. Not always the center of attention but also took its time which made it all the sweeter. And excuse my language but hot d*mn it was cute. I laughed my a$$ off at Meg and the Chiefs back and forth. Just a genuinely beautiful romance.<br/><br/>"Why do you have to be so crued?"<br/> "You sat down here to let me know you're hoping to f*ck the chief of police. You can put ribbons on it, Charlene, it's still crude. I just leave off the ribbons.""
