Eliza and Graham find themselves flirting like it’s their first date, and waiting with butterflies in their stomach for the other to text back. "I'm an avid reader of romance books, but this novel is something I haven't ever stumbled upon. It's so heartwarming, thought-provoking, and light at the same time! It feels more realistic than the majority of romance novels I read, and, despite the hardships the heroes go through, it's very positive and gives hope to readers. If I could, I'd erase my memory just to read it again."
"I liked the concept and there were a few hilarious moments that had me laughing. But overall, found it really cheesy and couldn't relate to either character. i could relate more to their hotel friend who was a delightful character to read. fun read if you need something light."

"3.5 Stars Rounded to 4.
Cover: 2.5

WWTQ: What kind of adults enjoy self-help retreats and organized chaperoned fun?

I really enjoyed this team's first book, The Roughest Draft, but this one...something about it was off. It took me a few days to realize what it was. The FMC is awful. At one point her sister accuses her of being selfish. She is. The FMC is a narcissist. There is no logical reason her poor husband should stay with her.

That said I loved the newly found best friend, David. David is attending the retreat to find love, again and again and again. He's a hopeless romantic. I wanted the MMC Graham to leave his horrible wife and go off into the sunset with David. Graham and David are the sweetest together. I'd recommend reading the book just for the scenes with these two."
"4.5/5⭐️

“Everyone pretends,”. “They pretend they’re brave. They pretend they can predict the future. They pretend they can carry fears or difficulties, but they don’t know if they can. They pretend they have hope they don’t know if they’ve mustered quite yet. When we need to, it’s what we do for each other.” “Perfect sometimes . . . requires a little pretend.”

This was a wonderful read, I don’t read many books with the marriage in trouble trope but I loved this plot so much. This book is about a married couple Graham and Eliza who have been married for 5 years thier anniversary is coming up and they are gifted a week at a couples resort. They haven’t been communicating and don’t know how to fix their marriage problems so they decide to pretend like they were different characters meeting for the first time.

Throughout this book we see Graham and Eliza rekindle thier marriage through a week of “firsts” and getting to know each other again. The book seemed like a realistic portrayal of marriage and the problems they had. I loved Graham and Eliza and their journey and development through out the book no matter how frustrating some of their actions were.

I really liked the quote below because it summarizes the book.
“I know you and Graham are working something out right now, but that doesn’t mean your marriage is any less perfect than mine. I just hope you won’t give up on it.” "
"After reading The Roughest Draft, this immediately went to my TBR list when I saw it was coming out. Unfortunately, it left me feeling very meh and irritated. It seemed to me like the conflict could have been resolved really quickly if the characters could have been brave enough to communicate. I didn't really feel like rooting for them.

Going to give the latest YA read a try now!"
