"I was looking forward to Jackson Brodie, and because I looked forward to reading about him and his private investigator business, I was disappointed to see that he was more of prop occasionally dropped into the story. Plot ran through a bunch of other characters ranging from interesting (Crystal and Harry) to sniveling and devious (nearly all others). I almost put the book down once or twice because it moved too slowly for me. UPDATE: I lowered the rating to 2 stars after I realized I remembered nothing about the story except that Jackson Brodie was largely absent."
