Respect the Legend. Idolize the Prodigy. Celebrate the Champion. But never underestimate the Rebel. With unmatched suspense and her signature cinematic storytelling, #1 New York Times–bestselling author Marie Lu plunges readers back into the unforgettable world of Legend for a truly grand finale.Eden Wing has been living in his brother’s shadow for years. Even though he’s a top student at his academy in Ross City, Antarctica, and a brilliant inventor, most people know him only as Daniel Wing’s little brother.A decade ago, Daniel was known as Day, the boy from the streets who led a revolution that saved the Republic of America. But Day is no longer the same young man who was once a national hero. These days he’d rather hide out from the world and leave his past behind. All that matters to him now is keeping Eden safe—even if that also means giving up June, the great love of Daniel’s life.As the two brothers struggle to accept who they’ve each become since their time in the Republic, a new danger creeps into the distance that’s grown between them. Eden soon finds himself drawn so far into Ross City’s dark side, even his legendary brother can’t save him. At least not on his own . . .

"4.5. I love the setting of Ross City and the dual povs from Eden and Daniel. We didn’t see too much of Eden even as he was the focal point of Daniel’s motivations in the 3 previous books, so it’s nice to get his perspective of things as a young adult."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 A beautiful end to one of my favorite series <3 I enjoyed that this was new in the sense of a new place and new POVs including Eden. I enjoyed the theme of brotherhood and how it still tied into what made me love Legend in the first place. I felt that the 2nd half of the book didn’t have as much going on in the sense of the “antagonist” and that part went by pretty quickly. I also felt there could’ve been a tad bit more done with Daniel and June’s love story, but I understand that there was 2 lines of romance going on so that’s probably why it could’ve fell a bit short. Overall, I still absolutely love this series and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that loves dystopian and some romance!! "
"no words the whole series is gorg perf very YA tho but I love her she’s the OG she’s my blueprint she’s my baby she’s the 1. Likeee I love her bc the world is very advanced and the writing doesn’t really feel juvenile but it just isn’t 🌶️ but it honestly doesn’t need it and if u fw dystopian ya ur gna eat this **** up a little hint of romance on the side and the end of the third boom fully ******* ended my life I read this a year and a half ago and I’m not over it. "1.5 stars

Before legend ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Legend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Prodigy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Champion ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rebel ⭐️.5
Average: 3.3

I didn’t hate this compare to all the books i rated one star. It is a decent book. The reason that i rated it one star was because it undid everything Champion did. Champion did a good job with tying everything together. It was open but we could infer what is going to happen. Champion was where the series was supposed to end until Marie Lu decided she wasn’t done with the story after the story was already finished and there was nothing to add to the series. I love marie lu’s books. She is probably the only author that read every series and almost every book by her. This could of worked of she wrote a companion novel, short story or a spin off. But because she decided to put the book as the last book of the series this is now the final book.

This book was really unnecessary. It adds very little to the series and what it did add we knew it was going to happen eventually.

The plot wasn’t that good. It was kinda rich vs the poor. It was very surface level with that kind of plot. It didn’t go deeper into the lives of the people that were suffering because of the point system and why they can’t raise there points. The plot felt like it was there to bring Day and Eden back together.

World building: it was ok. It sounds interesting but we needed to see more of it. We get to see some bully’s find a way around the point system by bullying while watching their tone. We don’t get to see much other than that

POV: they got rid of June’s POV and replaced it with Eden. Eden i found very boring. It was the average teen rebellion story. They gave him a love interest, which i also found kind boring. His doesn’t have much to him except he can build stuff and he doesn’t want to be in Day’s shadow.

We still have Day’s POV but he feels really robotic and does whatever is needed for the plot. Rebel is mostly written to be Eden’s story than Day.

June and Day: i like Day and June but they felt really robotic. They were still themselves but they felt like a bland version of themselves.

The thing with another book not being planned, the way that Champion ended you would assume they would be together. They are not. I would understand if June said no because of her insecurities she had in Champion because it made sense why she did that. In Rebel it is shown that they both wanted to get back together. There was no hesitation when Day asked her. We are given no reason why they aren’t together. They dated. They both know that he/she like eachother. What is stopping them? Yes, Day has amnesia but he remembers feeling. By the time the book starts he remembers enough.

Day does get the same insecurity out of no where. That he disrupt her life. It makes why June has it but why Day. It was her group that caused all of Day’s past pain and trama. They tested on him, killed most of his family and tried to hunt him down. Plus after all that June became Commander of all LA Squadrons. She has shown no regrets about her position.

On top of all the trama, Day’s brother was taken away and tortured. You would expect Day to be over protective of his brother. He is but good amount of time when he should be thinking of his brother he starts thinking about how much he loves June. At one point Day is kidnapped. He believes Eden has been captured and he doesn’t know much about what is going on. For some reason he thinks more about June (who is safe) than his brother.

June herself doesn’t do much in the book. She is mostly there just for the romance and support for Day. I also did not realize how much more fun June is when you see her POV. The point of her is she thinks more with her brain than her emotions."
"I love how it’s from the brothers perspectives while June is still in it. I recommend this series for anyone who is a sucker for dystopian societies and a love story to make you hate your life. "
