Adi Alsaid
The debut novel from Adi Alsaid, acclaimed author of Never Always Sometimes, North of Happy, and We Didn't Ask for This Five strangers. 4,286 miles. One epic adventure. Hudson, Bree, Elliot, and Sonia have only one thing in common: a girl named Leila. On a mission to see the Northern lights, Leila drives from Louisiana to Alaska, crashing into each of their lives in her absurdly red car. From prom night disasters to first loves and family weddings, Leila's cross-country adventure helps each of these four find something that was missing. But no journey is complete without a destination--and for Leila, the end of her trip might just bring her right back to the beginning. Back to the truth she knew all along: that perhaps, the only way to find what you're looking for is to get a little lost along the way. "Reminiscent of John Green's Paper Towns, Alsaid's debut is a gem among contemporary YA novels." --School Library Journal

"I'm no book expert, but this book really stood out as raw and real. Alsaid isn't afraid of an unexplored story but gives you just enough that you won't forget the characters anytime soon. Every character is so relatable and yet so different that I had to finish this in one day.
(One star was only taken off because I couldn't decide if I wanted a happy ending. But the nuance to everything almost makes me wonder if I'm wrong.)"
"All the different perspectives made it such a fun read, and honestly makes me want to become so open to adventure the way Leila is"

"One of my favourite books! This got recommended to me by a passing friend; someone who I’ll never see again but think about everyday. The story is light-hearted and adventurous. It makes you think nearing the end of the book. It also makes you want to make more out of your life. I loved it. Although, I tend to be bias towards coming to age stories. "
"Loved the storyline and the characters all having a backstory "
