Anne Rice
#1 New York Times Bestselling author - Surrender to fiction's greatest creature of the night - Book II of the Vampire ChroniclesThe vampire hero of Anne Rice’s enthralling novel is a creature of the darkest and richest imagination. Once an aristocrat in the heady days of pre-revolutionary France, now a rock star in the demonic, shimmering 1980s, he rushes through the centuries in search of others like him, seeking answers to the mystery of his eternal, terrifying exsitence. His is a mesmerizing story—passionate, complex, and thrilling.Praise for The Vampire Lestat “Frightening, sensual . . . Anne Rice will live on through the ages of literature. . . . To read her is to become giddy as if spinning through the mind of time, to become lightheaded as if our blood is slowly being drained away.”—San Francisco Chronicle “Fiercely ambitious, nothing less than a complete unnatural history of vampires.”—The Village Voice “Brilliant . . . its undead characters are utterly alive.”—The New York Times Book Review “Luxuriantly created and richly told.”—The Cleveland Plain Dealer

"it was better than the first one for sure. the concepts of how vampires came to be in this universe are really interesting! certainly the best parts were those stories of Egyptian gods and such. also in general I like the way Lestat's voice in writing sounds better than Louis who seemed creepy to me personally. if the the third book finds it way to me I'll read it otherwise I'm definitely not going to buy it and I'm not going to try too hard to seek it out."
"Incredible. As she always is. This is one of my favs."

"This is my all time favorite Vampire Chronicles and one of just my favorite books hands down. I have had the same copy since I was a Sophmore in Highschool and I'm 32 now. I've read it once every year since I got it and it never gets old. The story is so tragic but defiant as well and after reading Interview first it really helps put Lestat's character and choices into clear perspective. Fantastic book 10/10"
"My definition of cool and wild changed dramatically when I finally met Lestat explained in Lestat's point of view. I am incredibly biased towards this book. Rice's writing is always incredibly well paced and easy to read, she always has the right amount of detailing, enough to give you a good idea of where you are in the story and enough to let you fill in the details and add your personal preferences of the actions happening in a scene."
