In the New York Times bestselling sequel to One Dark Window, Elspeth must confront the weight of her actions as she and Ravyn embark on a perilous quest to save the kingdom--perfect for readers of Hannah Whitten's For the Wolf and Alexis Henderson's The Year of the Witching. Gripped by a tyrant king and in the thrall of dark magic, the kingdom is in peril. Elspeth and Ravyn have gathered most of the twelve Providence Cards, but the last--and most important--one remains to be found: the Twin Alders. If they're going to find the card before Solstice and set free the kingdom, they will need to journey through the dangerous mist-cloaked forest. The only one who can lead them through is the monster that shares Elspeth's head: the Nightmare. And he's not eager to share any longer. Praise for One Dark Window: "Enthralling from beginning to shocking end." --Hannah Whitten, New York Times bestselling author of For the Wolf "Pulse pounding, darkly whimsical, and aglow with treacherous magic." --Allison Saft, New York Times bestselling author of A Far Wilder Magic The Shepherd King One Dark Window Two Twisted Crowns

"This book was the perfect ending to The Shepard King series. It made me care about characters I didn’t like before and tied everything up nicely with a bow. It gave backstories to things I didn’t know I needed and everything made sense in the end. I even shed a little tear for the nightmare 🥲"
"What an incredible sequel to “One Dark Window”. I loved everything about this book. Unlike book one, this one changes perspectives of multiple characters so the reader gets multiple stories that happen simultaneously which weave together so beautifully at the end of the book. It’s not the same event retold by different character which kept me engaged, curious, and captivated the whole book. Everything I loved about the first book was either carried on in this book, or done even better. I don’t often find sequels better, but I believe this one is. I will be recommending this duology to many people, even if you aren’t a typical fantasy reader. 5/5"
"I am not crying!! What a journey! What a way to wrap it up! The stakes were higher than ever, we discover Ione’s full feminine rage, we are here for all of it, contrasted by Elm’s softness as a result of his education in pain. What a man! Ravyn discovers more than the possibility of uniting a deck but reviving legacies forgotten. Elspeth learns just how much she will cling to the Nightmare, how she will come to understand the barters made, for the people you love. Maybe I’ll revisit this review and have it make more sense. Go in blind just know this is an amazing duology, full of love and passion and sacrifice and found family and loss, so much profound loss. Happy reading! "
"After the cliffhanger in One Dark Window, I didn’t hesitate to dive into the final book of this duology. I couldn’t put it down. I love the poetic writing, the magic system, the gothic vibes, the banter. It was everything I want in a book: intriguing, filled with secrets, action, suspense, love, and wit. The multiple POVs from Elspeth, Ravyn and Elm were perfectly paced. It wraps up so beautifully. I definitely see rereads in my future. "
