Jennifer Dugan
From the author of Some Girls Do and Hot Dog Girl comes a sweet and salty queer YA rom-com about two girls on a summer road trip in an ice cream truck.Fallon is Type A, looks before she leaps, and always has a plan (and a backup plan). Chloe is happy-go-lucky, flies by the seat of her pants, and always follows her bliss. The two girls used to be best friends, but last summer they hooked up right before Chloe left for college, and after a series of misunderstandings, they aren’t even speaking to each other. A year later, Chloe’s back home from school, and Fallon is doing everything in her power to avoid her. Which is especially difficult because their moms own a business together—a gourmet ice cream truck where both girls work. When a meeting with some promising potential investors calls their parents away at the last minute, it’s up to Fallon to work a series of important food truck festivals across the country. But she can’t do it alone, and Chloe is the only one available to help. Tensions heat up again between the two girls as they face a few unexpected detours—and more than a little roadside attraction. But maybe, just maybe, the best things in life can’t always be planned.

"This book was the perfect forced proximity/ enemies to lovers. It's so angsty, funny and adorable. The whole book makes you remember that some things are worth saving and I love that so much. Seriously was SUCH a good book. I've been reading a lot of five star books lately, but this one definitely deserves it the most!"
"How can I describe this book? When I started reading it, it had that messy enemies to lovers thing but a little bit of baggage. So reading it I definitely came in expecting Mess and I definitely got Mess lol. But there was a lot of emotion and miscommunication and the way that a Jennifer Dugan Rights heard characters. She always writes a complex character, so because I read her latest book, I already had a taste of something new, and so seeing some thing that was written here ago, and seen the depth, and just all of the relatable content was very cool. I feel like a gift so many things five stars but this one deserves it."
"I have all the same qualms and issues as many reviews. This book is miscommunication at its finest $ honestly it drove me nuts through the majority of the book. And Fallon was probably one of the most immature characters I’ve read in a while. Like girl, put yourself in other people’s shoes for once! While I was so frustrated with Fallon & the mentioned trope, there were still many moments in the book where it just made me smile. Like the stops they went on the road, Esther & her partner, the many ice cream flavor puns. That is why this book is a 4. I’m overall glad I read this & am excited to read the rest of Jennifer Dugan’s remaining books"
