This chronicles, like a good ‘ol soap opera, a group of cheating, lying people who get up to no good during their summer days on Fire Island. It is juicy at its core with salacious gossip being spilled and spread like wildfire. Each picture perfect narrative has splinters running through it upon closer inspection and while this was a fun, light beach read, I couldn’t get myself to feel anything deeper or more compelling for the characters. They’re just all so recklessly unlikeable and don’t care how their actions impact others. However, if you’re on the hunt for some mindless entertainment to wile the day away then this is reliably entertaining, complete with a taste of zingy, experimental tang to titillate those taste buds.

"I am shocked people are saying this is a quick read. It took me more than a week to finish it. Felt like Real Housewives or something. I personally loved the premise but disliked the execution. Just seemed to be too fluffy with details that the plot got lost. So much extraneous stuff. "

It’s told from a ton of perspectives, so you get all sides of each story. <br/><br/>With suspense throughout, you knew something big was going to happen and the end twist was on point.<br/>Thank you @macmillianaudio for my alc, opinions are my own."
