"I couldn’t read this story fast enough. I loved the narrator and how enola is clearly her own person, seperate from sherlock and mycroft. they do show up but it’s made clear that enolas influence comes from her mother and her success as a detective is because she’s a female who’s able to see what men can’t "
"This is the first in the series of book featuring Enloa, the "much younger" sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. I was a little skeptical at first, but I was quite delighted by these books.

This first book introduced us to Enola on her 14th birthday. She's unexpectedly abandoned by her mother, after which she enlists the help of her older brothers. Since her father's death, Mycroft is, for all intents and purposes, her guardian. He gets to decide her fate. And he decides that boarding/finishing school is what's best for her. She has other ideas, and, with the help of a book of ciphers left by her mother, she runs away.

I have read some reviews that were confused about the title of the book and the case. Many people thought "the missing marquess" was her mother. I could see the confusion for those who didn't know the word "marquess." Anyway, the story of the titular character was interesting, but perhaps lacking depth. However, it helped introduce Enola and get her into London and served as a good setup for the rest of the series.

Definitely recommended for young fans of mysteries. Also, older readers who are looking for a fun, quick read."
