"3.5/5: An easy read to get you out of a book slump. The more I flipped the pages the more my stomach twisted in Knots of anticipation. I so desperately wanted Galatea to have a good ending and was NOT disappointed towards the end of the short story. Through the pages, Madeline Miller does a great job of painting the mood, despair, abyss, and lastly hope. However, I am curious about what happened to Galatea’s daughter after the story. Overall, a great read! "
"This is a lovely short story. It’s different than Miller’s other works, but it offers an interesting twist on the poem by Ovid. It’s connected to her other works in the way Circe and Song of Achilles reference each other. It’s a very quick read and the book itself is very tiny, but beautifully done. 4/5. "
"The writing style of this one is a bit different from Madeline Miller’s other two books, so if you finished those two and immediately jumped into this one like I did, don’t expect the same thing. It makes sense though since this is focuses on a character with a very different background and personality than the others. Admittedly I didn’t enjoy this one as much as Circe or TSOA but still a good read for sure. "
