"What is it about British rom-coms? They are just so quirky, sassy, and fun. I absolutely love it. Laura is batshit crazy. Literally got secondhand embarrassment from her. She accidentally picks up the wrong bag at the airport and believes it to be fate. So much so that Laura practically holds it for ransom.
This story was thought-provokingly beautiful and hilarious. It also didn't seem to follow the preordained plan that most romances do and that was very refreshing. Love isn't perfect or always a fairytale. It's a connection, a pull and it doesn't have to be forced. So even though Laura's eyes were elsewhere she had magic happening right beside her.
Ted was broken and grouchy but an absolute sweetheart. Laura blended into this new family so seamlessly I don't think she even noticed but it was a joy to watch. There were so many cute moments I was absolutely giddy by the end of it. Oh and let's not ever forget about the sex kebab haha! That had me rolling laughing.
----Quotes----
"I guess with me you get a different type of baggage and it won't look so great on a cover of a magazine.""
"It’s a book. 3 stars. Nothing too extravagant or groundbreaking.
The biggest highlight of the book is Gerry: sweet, positive, funny, and carrying just like a warm hug. I love him throughout the book. I have to say Chapter 13 is the funniest and worth the time and chapter 16 is the most tender and sweet. The small plot twist was definitely nice.
Now the Start of the book feels long, and dreadful and portrays MC as an annoying teen. The book didn’t leave much of a big impression so not much to say. It’s a one-time read and doesn’t get you as deep to the core as you would think. MC's first love interest (Jasper) feels like a shapeless jello, powerful and successful yet acts like yet another teen. Just not it.
The biggest letdown is still multiple typos, weirdly worded sentences (my hair has been styled to within an inch of its life and more), as well as using the wrong name on page 370. Now typos I can understand, but using the wrong character names in your own book?
Overall, it’s an ok read. "
"It didn't capture my interest. I'll usually suck it up and finish, but I didn't finish this one."
