"Though the world in the novel stands on the brink of war, there are no real "bad guys" - just two different peoples with two different religions and belief systems who generally lived in peace... until a greedy person in a position of power on one side who - on his own, with no government support - acted against the other side in an event that started a domino effect that could very well lead to a war that could last generations.
So, really... a lot like actual war starts. It isn't a battle between Good and Evil, no side wants ultimate power and control and neither do their leaders... but the act of just a few greedy, selfish people started a feedback loop of hate, anger and retaliation, forcing them all into a no win situation. "
