"I’m mixed about this one. Had a slower start and some decent character development, but I definitely was expecting more of a twist to happen since We Were Liars had such a brilliantly done one.
I do like that this book can be treated as both a prequel and sequel depending on how you look at it. Might just do that to get a refresher on how everything connects."
"it was good. I enjoyed it but it wasn’t as good as the first one. i wouldn’t say it was predictable but the big twist wasn’t very shocking or exciting. i was just expecting something to happen, unlike the first one which had a crazy twist and was really entertaining. so yeah a bit disappointing but still pretty good. I didn’t really see it as a prequel, more of just another story in that universe. maybe it’s because I read the first one a year ago lol. but i don’t agree with people saying it like gave insight or whatever. we barely knew anything about Carrie from the first book so it didn’t explain much or anything. so I think it’s could’ve tied in better. ⭐️3.5/5⭐️"
"I honestly liked this book more than We Were Liars because the first book was confusing and made me feel like I had to reread everything when I came to the end. This book was straightforward and SUCH a great summer read!! I absolutely love the setting (private family owned island) and rich lifestyle. I feel like Rosemary coming back as a ghost was a bit too repetitive but overall, a nice read. 4/5 ⭐️ "
