Sophie Beckett never dreamed she′d be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton′s famed masquerade ball - or that "Prince Charming" would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight. Who was that extraordinary woman? Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other - except, perhaps, this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid′s garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation. He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her. Yet, if he offers her his heart, will Benedict sacrifice his only chance for a fairy tale love?

"3.5 ⭐️ Alright, book 3 down. I had high hopes for this one going in because we do not yet have Benedict’s story on screen. It did intrigue me at first because it was giving serious Cinderella vibes, but became problematic yet again when the Bridgerton man made it difficult for me to like him. Yes yes…that was the time era….Okay, I hear you, but it still hits me in the, “OH HELL NOs!” On a positive note, I will say that narrator Rosalyn Landon is a top tier performer in the audiobook world for me and it definitely helped me get through this book quickly. "I found Sophie to be a compelling and interesting heroine. Benedict however, acted like a man baby on multiple occasions. I like him better in the show. The epilogue was very cute as well. And I also thought Mrs. Bridgerton shined through as a great character in this installment of the series!"

"Cinderella retelling eh... and the whole mistress thing got on my nerves and then he pressures her anyway when she refuses to do that. that being said Sophie was probably my favorite female main character of this series so far. what a shame that benedict was such a horrible awful man with his only redeeming quality was that he was an artist."
"I’ve been rereading the bridgerton books as it’s been quite a while, this one did not disappoint. Their story wasn’t my favourite but I adore the world this series has created making it so wonderfully complicated and having so many likeable characters. I was happy to see Posie get the happy ending she deserved in the epilogue. Although Benedict’s means of getting Sophia to London were questionable, their friendship was obvious and warmed my heart. All of the characters in my opinion were fairly well fleshed out. "
