Rival archaeologists must team up on a secret Aztec expedition, or it could leave their careers-and hearts-in ruins. Dr. Socorro "Corrie" Mejia has a bone to pick . . . Literally. It's been her life goal to lead an expedition in search of the remains of her ancestor - an ancient warrior of the Aztec empire. But when she is invited to join an all-expenses-paid dig to do just that, Corrie is sure it's too good to be true . . . As the world-renowned expert, Corrie should be leading the expedition not sharing the glory with her disgustingly handsome grad school nemesis. Dr. Ford Matthews has been finding new ways to best her since they met, and the last thing they both need is a reminder of their rocky past. But with a thief lurking around their campsite, the pair are forced to keep their rivalry-and lingering attraction-under wraps. From money-hungry artifact smugglers, the Mexican authorities, and the lies between them closing in, there's only one way this all ends: explosively. A laugh-out-loud romcom with a twist. Perefct for fans of Ali Hazelwood, The Lost City and a good old fashioned enemies-to-lovers.

"Ok, this was super cute. As someone who has a degree in archeology and has participated in digs I'd give it 2/10 for accuracy. You can definitely tell most of her research came from Indiana Jones, Uncharted and all the other history adventure stories. But I'm here for it. Drama, sex, feminism, bad guys trying to undermine everything we stand for, ulterior motives and of course IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to the many adventures of badass Mejia and weaksauce matthews 8/10."
"I really enjoyed this book! I hope there is a sequel in the works because I really enjoyed these characters! Corrie and Ford were the highlights but I also enjoyed the rest of the crew on dig in Mexico. There is swearing and some spice but not extensive. I also loved the cover art and title of this book! I reccomend this to romance fans especially enemies to lovers trope."

"3 Stars<br/>Cover 4 Stars<br/><br/>This was OK. It's a little too slapstick/American Pie humor for me, which isn't my sense of humor. I was thinking Romancing the Stone or The Mummy but this is more of a very very very low stakes sex comedy. I'm not sure this worked because we're not dealing with teenagers but adults. It felt awkward. <br/><br/>I'm not sure I liked Corrie. She didn't seem particularly comepetent at her job other than telling us she was. Her entire personality was "I have big boobs." The MMC, Ford was just stressed. There was some underdeveloped themes of misogeny in academia, but the book never really explored it. Both of these characters used their pretty privilege to their advantage. And good for them. Work smarter not harder. <br/><br/>It was fine for a sit by the fire, lazy kind of day.<br/><br/><br/>"
"Did anyone else cringe when she slapped him in the face? Umm, hello Amber. They had zero chemistry. Sure, they yelled at each other a lot and he confessed how he stole the dig from her, slept with someone to snag a valuable job and other slimy things but that only seemed to make her like him more. <br/><br/>Also - how is she this super smart professor who can only pack the necessities for a 1/2-year archaeological dig of her life and packs a vibrator? If this was supposed to be the comic relief, it didn't make me laugh and instead made me question if she was too dumb to survive the expedition. There was zero adventure, nothing at all about archaeology or history and just the 2 of them arguing about stupid things. <br/><br/>And we get it - her boobs are amazingly huge and her body is perfect. How many times did this need to be reiterated in the book. <br/><br/>An award should be given to the person who wrote the book description b/c that was pretty awesome - unfortunately, it did not describe this book at all"
"This wasn't bad but it wasn't great thanks to the mmc. I actually really liked the archeology adventure plot and the fmc but the mmc just gave off too much toxic white masculinity for my liking. The writing wasn't bad I loved that it was quick to read. The romance was okay there needed to be more character development done with the mmc though. There were steamy scenes in a tent that were nice and adventure and drama which made it a good read. <br/><br/>Read if you like: <br/>- Rivals to lovers <br/>- Only one tent<br/>- Archeologists <br/>- Mid 30 year old characters <br/>- Adventure<br/>- Latina fmc"
