"4.5 stars— I really enjoyed this book! It’s not often that animals/beasts are main characters in stories, even in fantasy stories. And I LOVE when nonhuman creatures have main roles. That alone made me fall in love with this series, but I also really love how much we get to know so many different characters and how well developed they all are. In my opinion, this book is all about the characters. The plot is good, but was absolutely secondary in terms of what makes this book such a pleasure to read.<br/><br/>PS the audiobook is read by various narrators and is very well done!"

"AHHHHH GIVE ME THE THIRD ONE ALREADY. I didn’t think I’d love the second as much as the first, but it was sooooo much better! There was no lull, it picked back up right where it left off with the energy high. I love it!"

"DNF 50% of the way through. It was such a slog to read. It felt like a lot of words with slow pacing and no purpose. I found myself dreading reading the rest of the book. I wouldn't say this was horrible, but for me it was too slow, a boring plot, and the characters became so 2D and uninteresting. The biggest problem for me was the inability to relate to the characters. Not a recommended read."
