Beauty and the Beast meets Taming of the Shrew in this laugh-out-loud and heartfelt Regency romance...Lord Nathaniel Harte, the disagreeable Duke of Beswick, spends his days smashing porcelain, antagonizing his servants, and snarling at anyone who gets too close. With a ruined face like his, it's hard to like much about the world. Especially smart-mouthed harpies—with lips better suited to kissing than speaking—who brave his castle with indecent proposals. But Lady Astrid Everleigh will stop at nothing to see her younger sister safe from a notorious scoundrel, even if it means offering herself up on a silver platter to the forbidding Beast of Beswick himself. And by offer, she means what no highborn lady of sound and sensible mind would ever dream of—a tender of marriage with her as his bride. Each book in the Regency Rogues series is STANDALONE:* The Beast of Beswick* The Rakehell of Roth

"The overpowered Beauty and the bipolar Beast retelling. I thought the story started out rather well. Astrid and Thane had good chemistry and the quips they shared were fun to watch. I really loved the idea of Thane stalking the halls like a predator with unwanted company in his territory.
Of course, there was plenty of unfairness for the female gender which is expected of the regency era I guess but it just gets old. Astrid is an expert in all things she needs to impress Thane. It was overly done and commented on often enough. She was also very fluent in the ways of men to be so innocent. I am not sorry for saying this but when the main characters express how unique and amazing the other is every time they do something as insignificant as tying a paraplegics shoe I want to hurl something across the room. It somehow feels disingenuous.
Like I said this book started out rather well. The banter the chemistry but as soon as they got together the bedroom talk became a bit eye-rolling. And I liked the beastly nature of Thane even if he was being a jerk. I didn’t care. I even liked Astrid up until the part when she started talking about women rights every chance she got. That sounds rude but this is my review so bugger off.
And what is up with the cover not reflecting the characters? Thane is supposedly covered in scares but the guy on the cover is slick as a bae bae seal. I don't why that bothers me so much. It's even worse with Alien romances. Anywho the side characters. They had promise. I wanted to know more about them but they fell flat. Well all but Aunt Mable she was a hoot. I just couldn't care deeply enough for anyone."
