"Overall, I enjoyed reading the book and appreciated the Asian American theme of struggling with identity. Asian Americans tend to fall into mental illness because they’re so pressured to make their parents proud and lack the understanding & happiness of their true self. So I feel like this book could break those barriers and encourage others to search for their own identity. "
"4.5 stars - Loveboat, Taipei does a phenomenal job exploring the time just after graduating high school where you don’t quite know who to be now that you’re apart from your parents. When you’re about to go to college and you have this newfound freedom to do what you want and be independent. While also navigating the stress and fear of having your whole life ahead of you where you might have to sacrifice your passion for a job that is easier for most people to understand. This novel also does an amazing job looking at the many relationships you’ll experience throughout your life (friends, family, and romances) along with the intricacies and struggles that come with being vulnerable. That’s a lot of deep material packed into a YA contemporary book!

After finishing this book, I went to check out what the second one was about and have to admit I was disappointed to see it centered around Sophie. I personally don’t think what she did would be as easy to move past as Ever made it seem. Sophie never appeared to be that upset over what she choose to do even though it was malicious, petty, and a gross violation of Ever’s trust. I don’t know if I’ll pick it up, but as of right now it’s not a priority.

Thank you to the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review."

"thoroughly enjoyed this book! love the Asian American representation (being AA myself) and it was fun to follow along Ever’s story about finding and learning more about herself. very different from other books I’ve read which kept me invested in the story each chapter! it was a tiny bit confusing at some point half way through with all the different boy characters. and there was also a tiny bit of a love triangle going on for a short time but overall I liked this book and plan to read the sequel soon!"
"I loved this book! Im so excited that Abigail Hing Wen announced that the film adaptation is in the works! This book is everything I love about going romance and drama. I’ve been on a mission to read more books with POC main characters and this book definitely did not disappoint. Love, drama, character development… I just loved everything about it. Can’t wait for Loveboat Reunion!!! 😍😊"
