"This book was very good. It was a rather long and slow burn that would probably only be considered a horror to those who grew up and left at religion. It turns faith itself into something to be eyed warily. I'm not normally a fan of religious horror, but I found this one pretty palatable "

"The Children of Red Peak is the second book I've read by Craig DiLouie, and I enjoyed it! This book is very different than Suffer the Children, and I appreciated being able to see his versatility as a horror writer. <br/><br/>Sometimes I struggle with books dealing with religion-related horror, but this one worked well for me. It's slower-paced, but mysterious enough to keep you invested. I was intrigued by the story the whole time I was reading. I'm not completely sure how I feel about the ending, but I liked the book overall. The Children of Red Peak is out tomorrow! <br/><br/>CW - suicide, panic attack, religion"

"Got really interesting during the last 20ish pages but the rest of it was just filler. The plot was way too slow, but the writing style was at least pretty good."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 - The book was very interesting, but can definitely get confusing with time jumps and POV changes. I felt like it left me in suspense, but definitely wouldn’t call it a horror novel. I would place it more in the mystery/thriller genre."
