USA TODAY BESTSELLER!"A romantic comedy that's fun and flirty, young and fresh." – PopSugar Named one of the Best Romances of 2020 by EW, Cosmo, OprahMag, Buzzfeed, Insider, and NPR! Mia Sosa delivers a sassy, steamy #ownvoices enemies-to-lovers novel, perfect for fans of Jasmine Guillory, Helen Hoang, and Sally Thorne! A wedding planner left at the altar? Yeah, the irony isn’t lost on Carolina Santos, either. But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina’s offered an opportunity that could change her life. There’s just one hitch… she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials. Marketing expert Max Hartley is determined to make his mark with a coveted hotel client looking to expand its brand. Then he learns he’ll be working with his brother’s whip-smart, stunning—absolutely off-limits—ex-fiancée. And she loathes him. If they can nail their presentation without killing each other, they’ll both come out ahead. Except Max has been public enemy number one ever since he encouraged his brother to jilt the bride, and Lina’s ready to dish out a little payback of her own. Soon Lina and Max discover animosity may not be the only emotion creating sparks between them. Still, this star-crossed couple can never be more than temporary playmates because Lina isn’t interested in falling in love and Max refuses to play runner-up to his brother ever again..."The Worst Best Man is rom-com perfection. . . Sosa has a gift with words that’s infectious and wry, one that keeps the pages turning in delight." — Entertainment Weekly

"2.5 - So. Cheesy.

I didn’t really like this all that much. The writing was mediocre, plotting a mess, but the romance was okay. I’m glad it was promoting healthy and relationships where you communicate.

I’m not a fan of this author’s writing style or humor. It’s not funny to me. The writing style is like one would do for middle grade, but the overall story is for adults. It doesn’t mesh well. Adding to this confusion is the weird phrasing used to be quirky and cute, but it ended up not being cute.

I did like the Brazilian culture representation, although it would be a lie if I didn’t say I got lost. This didn’t explain the culture to me, a newbie to Brazilian culture. I love learning about culture, but this wasn’t necessarily a learning experience as it was a “you should know this, right?” experience. Also, I don’t understand any Portuguese at all. All your lovely Portuguese in this book just went right over my head.

I’m not even sure what happened to the pacing. It was uber slow in the beginning but then at the end it rushed to finish. It’s not a great storytelling method. I see this too often in writing, which makes this altogether more frustrating for me."
"Picked this one up last minute didn’t have to many expectations going into it and for the most part I had a good time I actually cackled out loud multiple times I really enjoyed the family aspect as well also I didn’t expect there to be actual social commentary but it was amazing that there was and was executed great buttttt this fell flat for me by the end I was not invested at all by the end it felt like the the author was trying to get really deep with the romance and it’s just not that kind of romance it felt to dramatic and thrown in there it got to hallmark for me in the end and the baby talk I couldn’t stand I think I would have been a little invested if we got some actual moments of them on some a dates or something like more of that time on the farm that was the best part of this book but I did however enjoy the spice so that was great at least "
"3.5*
This book follows Lina and Max who meet on the day of Lina’s wedding. After Andrew’s bachelor party, he has a talk with Max that convinces him to call off the wedding and Max has to be the one to tell her. Because of this, Lina has held a grudge against Max ever since. Two years later, she’s forced to work with Max while trying to get a job as a wedding planner at a hotel.
Overall I did enjoy this book. I really liked the interactions between the two characters and I found their chemistry believable. I liked seeing them grow throughout the story and watch as their walls came down around each other.
My only real complaint was probably the sex scenes. It’s more of a personal preference but I just didn’t like the way they were written however like I said though it’s more so a personal preference so I’m sure not everyone will have the same problem.
Overall if you’re looking for a quick romance to breeze through I’d definitely recommend it."
